Which ATG Maxi Gloves Should I Choose?

When choosing a suitable pair of work gloves, it's important to consider the environment and materials you'll be working with. For applications like manual handling, you may want a lightweight glove with a high level of grip, while for petrochemical work you may want good oil and chemical resistance.

ATG are one of the most creative glove producers currently on the market and have a particularly impressive and varied range known as their Maxi Gloves. This range is so extensive however, it can be difficult to know which one is right for you, especially as it includes a few sub-ranges.

How ATG Improve Performance With Technology

ATG incorporate a number of innovative technologies into their Maxi glove range to ensure they offer the highest possible levels of comfort, protection and dexterity. A list outlining some of these technologies can be found below:

  • AIRtech: Patented micro-foam nitrile coating offers 360° breathability
  • ERGOtech: Creates a thinner glove than standard whilst offering similar mechanical performance
  • GRIPtech: A micro-cup finish that is designed to offer exceptional grip even when handling slippery and smooth materials
  • LIQUIDtech: Enhanced resistance to oils and other liquids
  • DURAtech: Offers fantastic resilience for better longevity and value for money

These technologies are cherry picked for each glove, helping them to perform well in specific work environments. While the MaxiCut Gloves protect against sharp materials, the MaxiChem gloves may provide chemical resistance and prevent liquid penetration. To help you decide, more information about each ATG sub-range and a comparison of their products can be found below.

What Types All Of Protection Are Available?

MaxiFlex Gloves

The strength of the MaxiFlex Gloves lies in their ability to excel at precision handling tasks. Made to be 25% thinner than traditional nitrile coated gloves, they offer flexibility and touch sensitivity yet provide the same level of mechanical resistance. Their soft nylon and Spandex liner mimics the natural resting state of the hand and bends easily to its movements so as never to impeded dexterity. In addition to being lightweight and dexterous, they are incredibly comfortable, typically boasting 360 degree breathability.

The table below compares the different MaxiFlex Gloves available from SafetyGloves.co.uk, including their EN 388 cut resistance levels, their thickness and their coating type. While thinner gloves with less coating offer a little more dexterity and comfort, fully coated gloves ensure the entirety of the gloves protect against certain physical risks. All of these gloves achieve the highest possible levels of abrasion resistance.

While they are still exceptionally lightweight and flexible for optimal dexterity, they can be a little thicker than the MaxiFlex Gloves.
