Advanced Design Combines the Best in Protection and Function

ATG have developed multiple cutting-edge glove technologies to enhance safety, comfort and overall performance. These MaxiCut Gloves are crafted with the following technologies:

AIRtechAIRtech: Uses a patented micro-foam nitrile coating to delivery 360° breathability to prevent overheating
DURAtechDURAtech: Coating can withstand 12,000 abrasive cycles per millimetre, making them highly durable
ERGOtechERGOtech: Provides a form-fitting feel, with smooth and rounded fingertips for touch sensitivity and comfort
GRIPtechGRIPtech: Delivered through a micro-cup finish to provide a secure and controlled grip

Why Are the MaxiFlex Handling Gloves Ideal for Handling?

Handling tasks demand flexibility and grip, which the MaxiFlex's nitrile palm coating provides in abundance. This is combined with their lightweight feel that reduces the level of fatigue that you will feel after a long day at work. Finally, the gloves are designed to provide total breathability, meaning that your hands will stay cool and fresh from the start of the shift to the end.

How Much Dexterity Do the MaxiFlex Elite Handling Gloves Provide?

The MaxiFlex Handling Gloves are incredibly thin, featuring a palm thickness of no more than 0.8mm. This helps to ensure an outstanding level of dexterity, which is perfect for most handling tasks. Their level of dexterity enables you to handle tricky and tactile items without much trouble.

What Can the MaxiFlex Elite Gloves Protect Me From?

They are designed to ensure that your hands stay protected during all-round handling tasks. This means that they need high quality protection against things such as abrasion, as coarse materials can damage your hands and your gloves. The MaxiFlex Elite Gloves have been tested to EN standard EN 388, and achieved the following results:

EN 388

  • 4121A
HazardLevel of Resistance
Abrasion ResistanceLevel 4
Cut ResistanceLevel 1
Tear ResistanceLevel 2
Puncture ResistanceLevel 1
Blade Cut ResistanceLevel A

What Does This Mean?

The EN 388 hazards are marked between level 0 and level 4, with the higher level that the gloves achieve meaning the better suited that glove is to dealing with that hazard. On this occasion, the MaxiFlex Elite Gloves are exceptional at protecting the hands against abrasion, which combined with tear resistance means that you can expect longevity from your gloves. Light puncture and cut resistance can protect your hands against small splinters, meaning that these gloves are well suited for tasks ranging from DIY to assembly to mechanics.

In Which Environments Can I Use the MaxiFlex Elite Handling Gloves?

The MaxiFlex Gloves are designed for usability and ease-of-use. Suitable environments include:

  • Indoor
  • Outdoor
  • Clean
  • Warm summer environments
  • Dry

How Breathable Are the MaxiFlex Elite Palm-Coated Gloves?

They are designed to offer 360 degree breathability, with their liner being 35% thinner than any traditional foam glove available on the market. This enables the hands to stay cooler, while the patented micro-foam nitrile coating ensures that these gloves are the most breathable gloves on the market available. This level of breathability promises to keep the hands cool even in warm conditions over summer.

How Lightweight Are the MaxiFlex Elite Palm-Coated Gloves?

The lightweight nature of the 34-274 Gloves is perfect for extended use throughout a shift. They are designed using a lightweight nylon and Spandex liner, which is easy on the hands and doesn't cause hand fatigue. The gloves are so light that they can fit on your hands and you will barely realise that they are there.

How Long Is their Knitwrist?

The knitwrist extends partly up your wrist, ensuring that the immediate area after your hand stays clean and protected from debris. The full length of the knitwrist depends on the size of glove that you select. The wrist length ranges between 63mm for size 6, and 74mm for size 11.

How Much Grip Do the MaxiFlex Gloves Provide?

The MaxiFlex Gloves feature a micro-foam coating that works to enhance grip while you are wearing the gloves. This roughened palm texture makes handling items a little bit easier, as it is harder for the material that you are handling to slip from your hands. This impressive level of grip is vital during assembly and handling tasks, where dropping items can waste time and money.

How Durable Are the MaxiFlex Elite Palm-Coated Gloves?

Handling materials all day requires a certain level of durability, firstly because of the consistent use that the gloves will have to uphold, and secondly because you might have to handle rough and coarse materials that can damage the gloves. The MaxiFlex Elite Handling Gloves offer level 4 abrasion resistance, meaning that they will stay in good quality despite handling abrasive materials. This helps to give you peace of mind that you can continue to use the gloves without worry that they will start to break during use.

Washing Instructions

Gloves from ATG can be washed safely in the following way:

1. Use commercial laundry soap or detergent (do NOT use dry cleaning solutions!)
2. Wash in warm to medium hot water, do not exceed 104°F (40°C)
3. Wash for 10 minutes
4. Rinse in cold water.
5. Repeat wash and rinse if soiling is especially heavy
6. Rinse in cold water
7. Tumble dry - maximum temperature 140°F (60°C)

When laundering gloves that have especially heavy dirt or grease, include several pieces of heavy canvas in the second wash cycle - friction from the canvas against the gloves helps loosen and remove deep dirt.

IMPORTANT NOTE

During the use of gloves and the laundering process glove performance can and will deteriorate. For critical areas requiring cut and heat resistance tests need to be conducted after use and laundering to ensure that the performance criteria still meet the needs of those using the glove. Safety Gloves can accept no liability once gloves have been washed.

What is EN 388?

What is EN 388?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.

How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.

Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.

Where Can I Find Out More?

This is just a brief overview of EN standard EN 388 so you know where you are standing. For further information, you can see the Introductory EN 388 Blog in our Knowledge Centre.

I bought these gloves to replace the dotted palm of the same brand. They are sturdier and yet flexible. I think they are more durable than the previous ones.
