How Heat Resistant Are the TraffiGlove TG5240 Gloves?

What Can The TG5240 LXT Gloves Protect My Hands Against?
The TG5240 Gloves are designed to protect against abrasion, cuts, tears, punctures, oil, grease, water and heat. This impressive list of protective properties makes the gloves extremely versatile, and well recommended for a wide range of higher risk industries. To ensure a high level of protection, the gloves have been tested in accordance with a number of EN standards and received the following scores:
EN 388
Resistance | Resistance Level |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | N/A |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 3 |
ISO Cut Resistance | Level C |
EN 407
Resistance | Resistance Level |
Burning | N/A |
Contact Heat | Level 1 |
Convective Heat | N/A |
Radiant Heat | N/A |
Molten Metal (Splashes) | N/A |
Molten Metal (Large Quantities) | N/A |
What Does This Mean?
The higher the scores received represent how well these gloves fair when exposed to such hazard. With level 4 being the highest level available, the gloves promise to provide exceptional resistance to abrasion, tears and punctures. Cut resistance is measured by the letters A to F, due to a change in the standard in 2016.
As the TraffiGlove Gloves achieved a level C, it means that they offer a high level of cut resistance. EN 407 is a little simpler with the level 1 in contact heat meaning that these gloves can touch items that measure as high as 100°C. What is LXT and Why Does it Matter?
The TraffiGlove TG5240 Gloves use something called LXT, a brand new glove treatment from TraffiGlove that stands for Life Extending Technology. The primary goal of LXT is to enhance durability and extended the life of the gloves. The gloves are treated during manufacturing by bonding glove fibres with this new formula that can act as a shield, protecting the gloves from water, oil and dirt.
A special coating prevents contaminants from reaching the material of the gloves
This also works to protect the gloves from damage while increasing comfort, as fibres on the gloves will be less likely to fracture through and feel rough against the skin. This is ideal for those who suffer from sensitive skin. If you want to find out more about LXT, you can do so on our website or by viewing the video below.
How Comfortable are the TraffiGlove TG5240 LXT Gloves?
The LXT Technology that is used in the making of these gloves provides an outstanding level of comfort, because it prevents fibres from breaking and becoming uncomfortable on your skin. Furthermore, their HPPE, nylon and Spandex liner is designed to be extremely flexible, ideal for more dexterous jobs as this will prevent hand fatigue from developing.
How Grippy are the TraffiGlove LXT Gloves?
The black nitrile microfoam palm coating is designed to become coarse in wet and oily conditions, meaning that these gloves are perfect for picking up and handling slippery materials. This is combined with their dexterity, which enables you to handle and grip items with the full force of your hand without you having to worry about dropping whatever you are holding. This combination of grip and dexterity is perfect for conditions that are slippery due to oil and grease.
Will The TG5240 Gloves Protect my Wrist?
The TraffiGlove TG5240 Gloves are designed with a knitwrist that extends up the wrist to ensure protection from the fingertips to the wrist. This knitwrist is also quite tight fitting and snug around the hands, meaning contaminants such as dirt and water won't enter the gloves. This knitwrist is also highly flexible, making it ideal for easy and fast donning at work.
Can I Wash the TG5240 Gloves?
The TraffiGlove Gloves are suitable for a light, gentle wash up to three times with mild detergent only. Do not tumble dry the gloves, only line dry them at temperatures of up to 30°C. Please note that machine washing these gloves may impact their overall performance.
Which Size Gloves Should I Choose?
