HexArmor EXT 4014 Waterproof Pathogen Repellent Extrication Gloves
An unfortunate reality for extrication professionals like first responders and evacuation professionals is blood. This danger is further compounded by the danger posed by the transmission of blood-borne pathogens. HexArmor EXT 4014 Waterproof Pathogen Repellent Extrication Gloves use multiple layers of fabric that coat an additional, highly protective TP-X layer that prevents the spread of blood and other bodily fluids.

HexArmor EXT 4014 Protection Ratings
EN 388
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric's abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.
Standard | Resistance Rating |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | N/A |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 2 |
ISO Cut Resistance | Level F |
Suitable Applications and Environments for Use
HexArmor Extrication Gloves are highly protective. Their unique characteristics mean they are suitable for use in a wide range of environments and applications. Please see a list of suitable ones below:
Guard Against Bloodborne Pathogens
Unlike other extrication gloves, HexArmor 4014 Safety Gloves prevent the spread of pathogens and disease thanks to a waterproof H2X barrier. This is essential, as first responders and extrication professionals often encounter blood and other bodily fluids in their line of work.
HexArmor Adjustable NeoPrene Velcro Cuff
Fed up of finding dirt and debris in your gloves at the end of the day? Dirt, dust and debris are a leading cause of eczema and dermatitis in tradesmen. A neoprene extended cuff guards against molecules and dust, no matter how small. It also keeps your glove in place, preventing slippage and "ride up".
Unrivalled SuperFabric Protection
Serious about heavy-duty protection, SuperFabric was developed in 1996 as a solution for preventing needle and knife incisions. It is the layer that prevents a serrated edge, needle or blade end from breaking through your glove and causing serious injury to your hand.
Grip Enhancement Promotes Better Control
HexArmor EXT Rescue Gloves come coated with a patented durable TP-X material that enhances grip strength and stability without compromising on safety.
Quality Construction for Durability
It doesn't matter how much protection your gloves provide you with if they don't have the durability to be used repeatedly. HexArmor EXT 4014 Extrication Gloves have been designed to last for a long time thanks to double stitched internal and external seams and core-spun thread. With a reinforced saddle between the index finger and thumb, they are less likely to tear at an inherently weak and vulnerable area.
High Visibility Design
Stay safe, stay seen. HexArmor are committed to creating gloves with stylish and contemporary colours that dually keep you safe and seen on site and in dark working environments. This is ideal for extrication professionals working on road sides at night.
Waterproof Lining for Greater Comfort
With a waterproof H2X barrier in the interior lining of the gloves, HexArmor EXT 4014 Extrication Gloves offer an even better level of protection. Allowing you to use the gloves in the rain, their H2X barrier ensures you stay warm and dry when working outside.

What is EN 388?
You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.
There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.
How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?
Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.
Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.
