Protection Ratings
EN 388
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves performance when used whilst working in and around mechanical machinery by measuring abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.
Standard | Resistance Level |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | N/A |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 2 |
EN Cut Resistance | Level F |

Incredible Cut Resistance
Kutlass PU2G will protect against in excess of 30 newtons of downward force applied by a sharp implement. They use a four yarn blend of cut resistant fibres and a stubborn, inherently puncture resistant polyurethane coating to resist incisions and cuts. Unlike a fabric glove, this combination jams the tip of a blade in between tightly knit fibres before it can reach the skin and cause damage to your hand.
Flexible Polyurethane Coating
Polyurethane is an incredibly flexible coating. This is beneficial because it preserves dexterity and accuracy in the fingers. A heavier glove does not allow a high degree of finger movement, thus reducing the users ability to perform precise and dexterous tasks when wearing it. A polyurethane coating has a lightweight feel to it that moulds the glove to the natural contour of your hand.
Palm Coating Benefits
A palm only coating allows the back of the glove room to breath. Full coatings trap odour and become sweaty because they do not allow for a natural flow of air. A palm only coating keeps a vulnerable area of the hand in the palm protected whilst staying light and breathable in the face of heavy perspiration and odour. If you like a lighter, inobtrusive style, a palm only coating is ideal.
