Their nitrile palm is coarse to the touch, which allows you to grip small and tricky items such as tools and machinery. Despite this coarse material the gloves are still highly flexible, dexterous and sensitive and at times it's so easy to pick up items, it is as if you aren't wearing gloves at all.
Their nitrile palm coat and dexterous design makes handling tools easy
Will the Matrix F Grip Gloves Protect My Hands?
EN 388
For many industries where these gloves are suitable, it's important to know to what extent they will protect your hands. Thankfully, they are designed to meet EN standard 388 (mechanical risks), meaning that they'll provide protection against a range of mechanical risks.
Hazard | Resistance Level |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | Level 1 |
Tear Resistance | Level 2 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 1 |
ISO Cut Resistance | N/A |
What Does an EN 388 Score of 4121X Actually Mean?
If you're a bit baffled by these scores, we'll explain here quite simply what they actually mean. They offer exceptional abrasion resistance. Level 4 is the highest level available which should mean that these gloves will not be phased by wear, tear, knocks and scrapes while also protecting your hands against these kind of threats too.
They offer the lowest score available for cuts and punctures. This means that they aren't recommended for using with sharp items such as knives, glass and blades, so if you are looking for some super cut-resistant gloves, we would recommend you head over to our Cut-Resistant Gloves category. Finally their tear resistance of Level 2 is pretty good, and it'll take a pretty tough tear for the gloves to start to give way.
Will I Still be Able to Handle Tools, Machinery and Complete Tactile Tasks?
The high level of flexibility and sensitivity that is provided with the gloves is ideal for completing tactile tasks. When you wear the gloves they fit tight and snug around the hand, but still provide an exceptional level of flexibility that isn't too much lower than that of an ordinary hand. This is ideal for handling tools and gripping machinery in high risk situations.
How Versatile are the Matrix F Grip Gloves?
A key plus of the Matrix F Grip Gloves is their versatility, as they are well suited to a variety of different environments, conditions and applications. Types of environments, conditions and uses where these gloves would prove beneficial include:
- Indoor
- Outdoor
- Light oil
- Light grease
- Light water
- Dirty environments
- Yard environments
- Garden environments
Can I Use Them as a Glove Liner?
Speaking of versatility, these gloves don't have to be used on their own. If you so wish, you can use the gloves as an underliner to some chemical or oil resistant disposable gloves, or wear them over the top of other gloves for additional warmth and resistance.
Will the Matrix F Grip Gloves Protect my Hands Against Oil?
If you're a mechanic or engineer, or work in the automotive industry then you'll be used to working with oil. These gloves will withstand a light amount of oil because of their tough nitrile coating on the palm. You should still retain your grip, meaning that the chances of dropping tools, equipment and parts are reduced.
It is recommended that as long as you clean any debris and oil from the gloves before using again, then the gloves should last far longer. For washing instructions please see the washing heading below.
How Comfortable are the Matrix F Grip Gloves?
The Matrix F Grip Gloves are quite snug and tight, but this isn't a bad thing as their sensitivity and flexibility works in your favour. They fit close around the hand but because they can stretch with the natural movement of your hands it means that they aren't uncomfortable to wear. In fact, their lightweight and flexible design is perfect for extended use as it will reduce hand fatigue.
How Light are the Polyco F Grip Gloves?
The Polyco F Grip Gloves are incredibly light considering the impressive protection and resistance that they offer. Their light enough that you can go about your tasks without being weighed down, and you may just forget you're wearing gloves at all!
How Sensitive Will The Polyco Grip Gloves Feel on My Hands?
For precision and tactile handling and applications, being able to feel exactly what you are holding can make your job a lot easier and safer while making you significantly more productive. The Polyco F Grip Gloves are very sensitive, with their thin design promising to give you a lot more feeling in your fingers. This reduces the chances of dropping materials and goods, while ensuring that you can handle and grip tools more effectively and accurately.
Will the Polyco F Grip Gloves Protect my Wrists?
They are designed with a knitwrist that extends five centimetres from the base of the glove, meaning that your wrist is protected from knocks, scrapes, water and oil. Another benefit of this tight knitwrist is that it works to prevent outside contaminants from entering the glove, helping to keep you safe and improve hygiene.
The Polyco F Grip Gloves use a knitwrist to offer protection along your wrist
How Durable are the Polyco F Grip Gloves?
Offering the maximum abrasion resistance, the Polyco F Grip Gloves can withstand a lot of knocks and scrapes. As they are suitable for use in light oily conditions too you can promise to get a lot from your gloves, with their tough but flexible design promising to last through a wide range of tasks.
What Materials are the Matrix F Grip Gloves Made From?
The Polyco F Grip Gloves are designed using 40% polyester and 60% nitrile, both durable materials that will last for a significant amount of time. Polyester is incredibly comfortable to wear and stretches around your hand, while the durable nitrile palm coating can protect your hand against knocks, scrapes, abrasion, knocks and tears.
Can I Wash the Polyco F Grip Gloves?
Should you use the gloves outside or with oil and grease, they will become dirty after a period of time. While this won't harm the overall quality of the gloves, should you want to machine wash the gloves you will be able to. We recommend that you don't tumble dry the gloves.
Please note that machine washing the gloves may impact the overall performance of the gloves.

Which Size Do I Need?
| The Polyco F Grip Gloves are available in six sizes so you should be able to find the size that suits you. In order to select the correct size of safety glove, simply measure across your palm at the point indicated in the picture. Compare your measurement with the chart below to ensure that you select the correct size of glove for your hand. Where your measurement falls on the boundary of two sizes, we would recommend selecting the larger of the two sizes for a comfortable fit. What is EN 388?
You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 388. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.
There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 388. EN 388 stands for Mechanical Resistance, and informs you of your gloves' resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures.
How Do I Read the EN 388 Score?
Simply speaking, the higher the score that this product achieves, the better the product will be at resisting that hazard. Products will score between Level 0 and Level 4 for abrasion, tears and punctures, and if they weren’t tested for that hazard you will see N/A written instead of a number.
Cuts are a little different and, with the EN 388 standard rewritten in 2016, it means that gloves will either be tested to cut resistance or ISO cut resistance (sometimes called TDM cut resistance). Gloves tested to cut resistance will score between Level 0 and Level 5, and gloves tested to ISO cut resistance will achieve a score between Level A and Level F with the higher letter offering better cut protection.
