Information

Polyco Freezemaster II Fleece Lined Cold Handling Gloves FM2

Freezing cold temperatures make working without gloves impossible. Guarding against sub-zero temperatures has historically meant wearing bulky, heavyweight gloves that limit grip and prevent the stable picking, handling and transfer of goods and material.

Polyco Freezemaster II Fleece Lined Cold Handling Gloves FM2 use premium leather and a thermal membrane lining to prevent heat loss and enhance contact-cold dexterity and handling. Ideal for shipping, winter cargo handling and for users who are in and out of freezers and cold stores, Polyco Freezemaster II Gloves are available with a choice of cuff-lengths to further enhance heat retention when in freezing cold applications.

What's Included?

  • 1 x Pair of Freezemaster II Gloves

Which Size Polyco Freezemaster Gloves Are Right for Me?

Polyco Freezemaster II Safety Gloves are available in five different sizes. To find the right one for you, simply measure the circumference of your palm (ignoring the thumb area) and the length of your hand as indicated in the image below.

Once you have your measurements, please consult the sizing chart below to find the correct size for your hand.

How to measure your hand

Size Palm Circumference Hand Length
Size 6 (Extra Small) 152mm 160mm
Size 7 (Small) 178mm 171mm
Size 8 (Medium) 203mm 182mm
Size 9 (Large) 229mm 192mm
Size 10 (Extra Large) 254mm 204mm

Protection Ratings and Safety Standards for Freezemaster II Gloves

EN 511

  • EN 511: 22X

EN 511 is the European regulation governing cold-resistant garments and gloves. This regulation uses a number of intricate and complex tests to assess the contact cold, convective cold and water permeability of a fabric. Please view the table below to see how these gloves performed:

Standard Resistance Rating
Convective Cold Resistance Level 2
Contact Cold Resistance Level 2
Water Permeability N/A

EN 388

  • EN 388: 2212X

EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric's abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.

Standard Resistance Rating
Abrasion Resistance Level 2
Cut Resistance Level 2
Tear Resistance Level 1
Puncture Resistance Level 2
ISO Cut Resistance N/A

What Do These Ratings Mean?

Convective cold prevents cold in freezers, cold store units and other sub-zero environments causing the temperature of your gloves to drop. Coupled with contact cold resistance, which prevents the transfer of cold from an object to your hands, Freezemaster Gloves ensure that low temperature environments do not compromise the safety and comfort of your hands when handling material and equipment.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Level 2 convective and contact cold resistance is ideal for winter handling
  • Thermal lining works to insulate hands and amplify heat retention
  • Ideal for cold weather application all through winter
  • Waterproof membrane prevents moisture, condensation and liquid seeping through glove
  • Spandex back enhances flexibility across the entire hand
  • Made with soft, resilient and durable premium quality leather
  • Available in five different sizes

Suitable and Suggested Professions for Use

With their unique combination of contact cold and mechanical resistances, Polyco Freezemaster Gloves are ideal for a range of professions, including:

Cold Store Protection and Comfort

Working in a freezer, cold store or an internal temperature regulated unit causes your hands to numb up over time, compromising natural grip strength and putting your safety and the products your carrying at risk. Polyco Freezemaster Gloves are inobtrusive and lightweight, bolstering the stability of your grip and ensuring that cold, condensation and lingering moisture are not able to make contact with your hands.

Polyco Freezemaster II Gloves

Winter-Proof Your Workplace

Whether you're working outdoors in January or you're in and out of a cold store every day of the year, you need gloves that you can rely on. Designed to prevent the transfer of cold temperatures from object to hand, Freezemaster II Gloves act as a barrier which absorbs the cold, keeping your hands snug and warm underneath.

Premium Leather Foundation Fabric

Made with premium quality leather which is soft, durable and resilient, Polyco Freezemaster Thermal Lined Gloves are built to last. Highly resistant to wear, tear and scuffs, they are perfect for fast-paced workplaces where boxes, freight, equipment, containers and products need to be moved and transferred quickly.

Thermal Fleece Lining Enhances Insulation

Anybody who's worked outdoors during winter knows the value of a quality pair of fleece lined gloves. The difference between standard cotton work gloves and a pair of properly constructed thermal work gloves is immeasurable.

Polyco Freezemaster II Gloves use a soft and comfortable internal thermal lining which doubles as a waterproof membrane. This lining not only keeps the hands snug and warm; it also serves to prevent moisture and condensation seeping through the fabric of your gloves.

Customise Your Cuff Length

Polyco understand that not all cold weather environments are created equally. If you work in seriously low temperature environments and have to ensure that every inch of skin is covered, the long-cuff variation of the Freezemaster II come with an extended section of fabric at the wrist to enhance heat retention and prevent exposure to bitter winds.

What is EN 511?

What is EN 511?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 511. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 511. EN 511 stands for all things cold, and means that your gloves have been tested for their convective cold resistance, contact cold resistance and water permeability properties.

How Do I Read the EN 511 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score achieved the better the product will be at resisting the hazard tested. For the first two tests (convective cold resistance and contact cold resistance), the product will achieve between a Level 0 and a Level 4. The higher the score the better the resistance, with a Level 0 score meaning that it failed and an N/A score meaning that the product wasn’t tested for this hazard.

For water permeability the product will achieve either a Level 0 or a Level 1. Level 1 means that the product is waterproof, and Level 0 means that it isn't.

Where Can I Find Out More?

This is just a brief overview of EN standard EN 511 so you know where you are standing. For further information, you can see the Introductory EN 511 Blog in our Knowledge Centre.

Best so far!

Hi - work for long periods in freezer (-25 to -18 Celsius). These are by far the best gloves I’ve tried so far; however, my fingers still go numb after about 30 - 45 minutes and after just 2 months the leather tips have worn away, exposing the inner linings.

Bought these for getting items out of the freezer as my circulation is bad and so my fingers can't cope with very low temperatures. The gloves are good, very warm and the medium size is a perfect fit thanks to the good size guidance. Note not waterproof.

Best gloves I can find for the duties.
Which are working in exteme cold but mainly wet, where I feel they do fall short they can soak up a lot of moisture. Also they get dirty in our work with no adequate way of cleaning and drying them.
