Protection Ratings

EN 388

  • EN 388: 4X43D

EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric's abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.

The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.

Suitable Applications and Environments for Use

Ejendals 8807W Infinity Gloves have incredible cut-resistance. This makes them ideal for applications where blades, metal, sharps and knives are frequently being handled. We have put together a list of professions and environments that we believe suit the unique properties of this pair of gloves. Please see below:

How Do 8807W Gloves Protect Your Hands?

A foam nitrile palm enhances grip strength by absorbing moisture, perspiration, grease and oil. This prevents material being dropped and ensures that hand and wrist fatigue are a thing of the past. Level D cut-resistance also prevents blades, sharps and other abrasive material from breaching the high-quality glass fibre threading used in the construction of 8807W Gloves.

Incredible Cut-Resistance

Level D cut resistance means the fabric used in the construction of Ejendals 8807W Gloves can withstand an incredible 22 newtons of downward pressure applied by a sharp implement before showing visible signs of damage. In real world terms, this is the difference between a misplaced blade tip piercing a cheaper, weaker fabric and it being lodged in between the high quality cut-resistant fibres used in the manufacturing of Ejendals Gloves.

What Is Glass Fibre Thread?

Glass fibre thread or glass fibre lining as it is otherwise known is a material commonly used in the manufacturing of gloves and other cut-resistant garments. It is incredibly durable whilst remaining inobtrusive and lightweight. It looks like incredibly thin string and is woven into the nylon fibres during the construction process to give Ejendals Gloves the cut-resistance they need.

Absorbent foam Nitrile Coating

Foam nitrile is an incredibly durable and porous coating.  It is manufactured to include tiny air bubbles which absorb oil, grease and moisture. If left on the face of the glove palm, these can cause slippage and material drops. It works like a sponge, creating a suction effect that leaves the slightly abrasive texturing on the palm dry enough to adhere to the material in hand.

Contact Heat Resistance

Heated material is a constant issue in factory and warehouse settings. Whether you work with it directly, or you're a machine operative, it's vital you wear gloves that protect against burns and scolding. Tegera 8807W Gloves have a contact heat resistant rating that allows the user to hold material heated to 100°C for an incredible fifteen seconds.

Lightweight 15 Gauge Design

A 15 gauge glove gives the best of both worlds. The heavier, denser fabric associated with a lower gauge glove is woven into a tightly spun, snug design brief that doesn't compromise on dexterity and accuracy. This leaves the fingers free to complete tactile, difficult tasks that require an incredible amount of natural touch and feel.
