EN 374 1 - 5: 2016

The Aurelia Gloves are also certified to EN 374, and are suitable for protection against chemicals, and protecting against the spread of viruses. Chemicals where you can use these gloves include:

Code Chemical
J n-Heptane
K Sodium Hydroxide 40%

EN 1186

Finally, these gloves are certified to EN 1186. This means that they are certified for use with food.

How Strong Are the Aurelia Bold Max Nitrile Gloves?

The Aurelia Bold Max Gloves offer incredible tensile strength, which means that sometimes these gloves can be reused after use. Nitrile offers fantastic strength, meaning that you can get far more out of these gloves especially in industries such as automotives and mechanics. Alternatively, when used in a medical environment you can rest easy that these gloves won't break during use.

The physical properties of these nitrile gloves can be seen below:

  Unaged Aged
Tensile Strength min. 14.0 MPa min. 14.0 MPa
Elongation min. 500% min. 400%
Strength at Break min. 6N min. 6N

Why Are the Aurelia Bold Max Gloves PErfect for Preventing Contamination?

These gloves are a fantastic choice for the medical and food industries, because the high tensile strength and powder-free design reduces the chances of what you are working on becoming contaminated. Protecting you from exposure to chemicals and viruses, the nitrile used in these gloves offers a superb level of resilience that is stronger than that of both latex and vinyl. For any tough environment where disposable gloves are required, we would recommend the Aurelia Bold Max.

How Thick Are the Aurelia Bold Max Gloves?

The Aurelia Bold Max Gloves offer the usual absolute dexterity that you can expect from your disposable nitrile gloves. However, they are still quite thick, meaning that they will last far longer than your usual disposable gloves, while also protecting your hands against little niggles too. The gloves offer a thickness of 0.08mm on the wrist, 0.16mm on the palm and 0.2mm on the fingers.

How Easy Are the Aurelia Bold Max Gloves to Wear?

The lightweight diamond texture of these gloves means that they offer fantastic grip. This is combined with their easy donning capabilities which makes them excel in tasks such as mechanics and the medical industries, where fast use of your hands is absolutely crucial to your job.

How Grippy Are the Bold Max Nitrile Gloves?

The Aurelia Bold Gloves have superb grip, with their diamond grip pattern creating more of a coarse type feel that makes items grip to your hands. This makes the gloves particularly ideal for gripping small and tricky items during mechanics and engineering. It also reduces the chances of you dropping items when working with slippery materials in the food industries.

What Materials Are the Aurelia Bold Gloves Made From?

The Aurelia Bold Gloves are designed using few materials. This includes:

  • Nitrile
  • Latex free

What is EN 511?

What is EN 511?

You might have noticed that this product adheres to EN standard EN 511. EN standards ensure that the product you are buying meets the safety standards of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the highest standards organisation recognised by and working on behalf of the European Union. To pass any EN standard, a PPE product must undergo some of the most rigorous safety tests around.

There are many EN standards that our gloves adhere to. However, the EN standard that we’re concerned about here is EN 511. EN 511 stands for all things cold, and means that your gloves have been tested for their convective cold resistance, contact cold resistance and water permeability properties.

How Do I Read the EN 511 Score?

Simply speaking, the higher the score achieved the better the product will be at resisting the hazard tested. For the first two tests (convective cold resistance and contact cold resistance), the product will achieve between a Level 0 and a Level 4. The higher the score the better the resistance, with a Level 0 score meaning that it failed and an N/A score meaning that the product wasn’t tested for this hazard.

For water permeability the product will achieve either a Level 0 or a Level 1. Level 1 means that the product is waterproof, and Level 0 means that it isn't.

How Do I Read the EN 374 Score?

Understanding EN 374 takes a little but more effort than with other standards as it comes with different letters, numbers and symbols that represent different levels of protection against different types of chemicals. Some of the different things you may see include:

  • Symbol: Corresponds to the test that the products were subjected to
  • Type: Corresponds to how many chemicals the product was tested against
  • Letter: Corresponds to which chemicals the product was tested against
  • Number: Corresponds to how long the product can withstand the chemical

Where Can I Find Out More?

We try our best to make it clear in the copy which chemicals the product can withstand. However, if it isn't clear or if you'd like to know a bit more, you can see the Introductory EN 374 Blog in our Knowledge Centre.

Tough All Rounder

Really good quality and surprisingly tough and durable. We use these all the time, even for gardening. In the cold I wear them over warm gloves and they keep my hands dry and warm. I repotted over 40 plants wearing only one pair and they were good to go the next day. No holes or tears not even on the fingertips. My husband wears them outside - building outbuildings, fencing and heavy maintenance. It's rare that he needs more than one pair a day. We use them all the time, they are good quality , durable and easy to wear. Exceptional value for money - we have tried countless other disposable gloves (truly- over 20 different brands/types over 6 years) many far more expensive - nothing else comes near. Added to that Safetygloves are cheaper than any other website we found - you really can't go wrong.
It may seem strange to wax lyrical about a disposable glove but over time it's expensive and terribly wasteful if they are not fit for purpose.

Good product: Hard wearing and good grip

Due to covid-19 we have had to shop about to ensure that our staff still have the required PPE to complete emergency works. SafetyGloves had a brilliant stock level, at competitive prices.

Unsurprisingly due to the high demand for these products, it did take quite a while (over three weeks) for them to process our order, but once complete delivery did take the predicted three working days to arrive.

Product is brilliant, gloves do as they say: are hard wearing with grip, perfect for industries like ours that require use of various tools to complete an activity.

I will definitely order from SafetyGloves again.
